If you would like to make homemade soap, or have already started, To make it extra special a few features are needed to finish of your lovely creations? There's no use in making beautiful soaps and handing them out unwrapped.......it probably wouldn't have the best effect.......and people would probably think your telling them to get clean. This won't do any favours to the lovely soaps you have just made .

So on that note let's get crafty and learn how to beautifully package your soap!

Soaps are relatively inexpensive to make so for a couple of dollars more and a bit of creativity you can hand out a lavish gift at very little expense. Here's a few ideas:

Tip 1

A beautiful way to package your soaps is to buy a pretty, inexpensive gift boxes from one of the dollar stores, line it with some tissue paper and place your home made soap on top, cover it with some more tissue paper and place the lid on. Wrapping a pretty ribbon around the box (also purchased from the dollar store) and attaching your gift card is also nice. You can get some beautiful ribbons, gift cards and little bits and peices from the dollar stores with enough left over for future wrapping. You can also place your soaps into chiffon bags(like what potpourri comes in) these can be purchased from the dollar stores or your local art and craft supplier. They don't need any extras on the bags just the soaps inside look great on thier own.

Tip 2

Check out the larger soap companies if you're stuck for ideas, online or offline they have a wonderful array of themed soaps and bath bombs all year round, it might just inspire you. Some stores you may like to check out are Lush, Bling, Crosby Bubble Bar, Candy Cane Bubble Bar or Rock Star Soap.

Tip 3:

Add 1-2 drops of food colouring to your soaps for colour, but don't stop there, you can also add glitter and fragrance, or write names or phrases using diamantes. If you make soap from glycerine this is a fantastic way to add flowers, herbs even little kids toys as it is see through and has a fantastic effect for putting objects in it!

I hope this has given you a few ideas when it comes to handing out your products. But don't stop there! Your soaps can take on themes for any special occasion, like ginger soap in the shape of a gingerbread man for Christmas! Little soaps designed as pudding's or the wrapping can be Christmas design. The ideas are endless, and your friends and family are absolutely going to love you! begging you to make homemade soap all the time!
