How to choose the right color for clip in hair extensions?

Choosing the right color for your clip in hair extensions can sometimes be annoying. Different companies and salons occasionally will use different color measurements to identify the color of your hair to match the extensions.

The most common hair chart is 1 being black, 2 being dark brown, and so forth until you get to 613 which is platinum blond.

When picking the color for your hair extensions make sure to identify the color from the tip of your hair instead of at the root. The only part of the hair extensions that will be visible is the hair that shows from under your own hair. So the tips will need to match the hair extensions so it will blend nicely.

If you do get the wrong color hair extensions do not worry. If you bought good quality hair extensions, preferably Remy Grade AAA hair, they dyeing your hair extensions to match your own hair should not be a problem. However, synthetic hair will not dye properly. You can also return the hair extensions, depending on each stores policy, if it does not match your hair. However, if you did not get the color correct the first time around it might not be worth it to try again since you might just be waisting money shipping it back and forth. Dying the hair extensions to match yours is probably the best bet.

If the color does not match exactly and you do not want to dye or return the hair extensions a simple way to blend in your natural hair with the clip ins is to curl all the hair together. It makes it nearly impossible to tell where your hair stops and the extensions start. Even if the color is slightly off.

Many websites and stores will have a color table or color chart where you can choose which color is best for you. If you have questions about your hair color contact your hair stylist or the website you wish to buy from.
