iconBeautifying Hair Advice - BY ALYA K.

I love this website! Hope this helps!

Lessen the friction on your hair whenever possible. Don't sleep with your hair loose or if you must, use a satin pillowcase. Doing this will help prevent split ends.

Deep condition your hair at least monthly, even if it's in good shape this will help keep it that way. If your hair is dry or damaged, deep condition weekly. Hot oil treatments are a good alternative for very dry hair or for extra conditioning (but be forewarned, to some extent hot oil treatments will lift any non permanent color you've added). You might want to try washing and applying conditioner at night, wearing a shower cap to bed, and rinsing in the morning for a really intense conditioning treatment as well.

Rinse your hair in as cold water as you can stand. Not only will this make the cuticle lay flat and less likely to snag and break, but by the same token you'll get the added benefit of very shiny hair that's easier to comb wet.

If you wash your hair often or have very dry hair, you may want to consider using only conditioner to wash it on occasion. If your hair isn't very dirty the conditioner will easily rinse away surface contaminants while allowing you to avoid daily use of the harsher solvents found in shampoo.

When swimming in salt or chlorinated water, wet your hair with tap water before you swim. Hair is like a sponge, there is only so much water it can absorb. The wetter your hair before you swim, the less salt water and chlorine it will absorb.

Use the sun to your advantage - comb a dollop of deep-conditioning treatment through your hair after rinsing out the salt or chlorinated water, let the heat of the sun help the treatment penetrate.

iconHair Tip - BY ORION
Just one tip for people who are really hair conscious....don't use Pantene....it contains silicon in it which will make the hair shiny but will also ruin the hair, making it difficult to style. The silicon actually coats the hair making it difficult to dye and apply deep treatments to....my hair started to break after a while using Pantene...now that I have switched shampoos and conditioners, I will NEVER go back.
iconHair Oomph! - BY HOWELL
Take 1 tsp. of lemon juice (fresh squeezed so it wont dry your hair out)
1 teaspoon hydrogen peroxide
1/2 cup baby oil

Mix together in a squirt bottle and sprit through hair then lay in sun for 1-2 hours to get full effect, or not as long to only lighten hair a little, this works on all types and colors of hair. (if the substance is too thick then thin with water.) Afterward rinse hair with shampoo and conditioner and blow dry, you will have a totally "natural" hair oomph!
iconNair - Hair Removal System - BY ICYHOT999

You can buy Nair at almost any store like Target or K-Mart or Longs or Walgreens. All you do is apply a thin layer on your arms, legs, under arms, or almost anywhere else and leave it there for 4 minutes, then wipe it off with a small towel that is moist with warm water.

Warning: do no leave it on for more than 10 minutes. Do not put it on vaginal, penial areas, that includes breast nipples. Also do not use if you have extremely sensitive skin.

iconBeautiful Shiny Hair - BY DIPALI IYENGAR
Apply coconut oil on your hair, massage it in and allow it to soak in the hair for 2 hours (or more) and wash it off with warm water and any shampoo, you can use a conditioner as well. It may take more than one wash but it will leave your hair beautiful and give it a great bounce too.
