iconBeauty Tips - BY PHYLLIS

Sage rinse for hair...I have just read this tip in "Little House in the Ozarks", by Laura Ingalls Wilder.

Also:

2) The addition of a little baking soda to some rinse water will lighten the hair and help to make it fluffy.

3) Buttermilk will whiten the face and hands. ( Lactic acid)

4) Salt and soda good to scrub teeth.

5) A bar of castile soap is good, and no perfume which dries the skin out.

This was written in 1914, so she was using the best of what she had. She was using rose water and glycerine was her moisturizer.

icon4 Oily Hair :) - BY MORGAN
Hey! Your site is truly amazing! Here's a cool tip for people with oily hair: wash it everyday, don't use conditioner (even if it says,"for oily hair"), if you have to use conditioner, apply it only to the ends of your hair (applying to scalp will cause build up), do not let it air dry completely: blow dry the ringing wetness then let it dry b/c if you blow-dry it completely it will be frizzy, and when you get out of the shower, rub ice all over your hair (this is how Liv Tyler gets her hair so shiny!). Take my word for it. It really works!
iconPerfect Curls - BY ANGIE
O.k. I have thick hair and when I want to put those overnight curlers in my hair they never dry... so for perfect curls roll up "just blow dried" hair instead of wet or damp.
Hey this site is so freakin cool.
iconHair Breakage - BY SPAYROLLKID
For hair breakage, mix together in a small jar or container, two tablespoons of hand cream, two tablespoons of conditioner, and one tablespoon of olive oil. Rub into spot where breakage has occurred, particularly at night. Shampoo out in morning or not. In a matter of a week or two, you will see hair growing back.
iconDandruff Treatment - BY J. RODRIGUEZ

Ingredients:

Shampoo, conditioner, crushed aspirin, lava soap and an empty plastic bottle. (You can use any old shampoo and conditioner for this.)

Directions:

Pour equal parts shampoo, conditioner and lava soap into the plastic bottle, leaving about an inch free from the neck. Add crushed aspirin and shake well. Use this mixture whenever your dandruff gets bad. Remember to SCRUB!!!

NOTE: LAVA SOAP IS A HAND SOAP AVAILABLE AT MOST GROCERY STORES
