All About Foot Henna Design
By Catty

Beautification of feet is usually a much neglected area of a make-up routine. These are the great body parts that carry us around, irrespective of our weight, and we never care for them. The most we do is apply nail paints on our toe nails and that’s it. Paying attention to our feet from top to bottom is very important for their looks, as well as health. A little bit of care can have a massive impact on their overall appearance. The truth is that feet also reflect a person’s body and its beauty.

Henna is a natural type of body art that is a temporary and
safe alternative to get a real tattoo on any part of your body.
The artists of henna tattoo make use of the natural ink of henna
made form the powder of leaves of a henna plant. The artist
makes a paste of the henna powder and paints an attractive foot
henna design on your foot, or any other body part where you want
a tattoo. The tradition of tattooing with henna has been in
practice for thousands of years. The tombs of pharaoh in Egypt
have also some traces of henna’s existence, and it is still very
popular as a natural tattooing process today.

Before the application of henna on the skin, you must make sure
that your skin is not allergic to it. You can do this by testing
a very small amount of henna paste on your body and see if there
are any allergic reactions visible on it. Although henna rarely
cause any allergic reaction in people, because it is completely
herbal and natural and quite safe on any kind of skin, but it is
better to be on the safer side especially if you have a
sensitive kind of skin. Once you have made sure that your skin
is not allergic to henna, you or the henna tattoo artist may
begin to work with it on your skin.

Although the colors of henna tattoos are limited to shades of
green, red, black or brown, there is no limit to attractive
designs, patterns and images which can be formed with henna. You can also make use of aids like design books, stencils, bindis, transfer tattoos and faux jewelery and make some striking foot henna design on your feet. The colour of the henna ink that
comes on your skin also depends largely on the tone and type of
your skin. You can also check, if you will get the desired
result or not, by doing a patch test first.

There are many ways to make henna paste, among which, one of the most popular recipes is: take 3 cups boiling water, add 2 table spoons of black tea or coffee to it and boil it for the time till it gets reduced to only half a cup. Then add a tea-spoon full of eucalyptus oil, juice of half lemon and one teaspoon sugar into it. Mix it carefully with a spoon and put it down for at least six hours. It is advisable to leave it for the whole night, so that you get a beautiful deep brown black colour on your feet.
