| Alternative Solution - BY AVERY T. |
| I have frizzy, naturally curly hair and live in a damp, moist coastal climate. Summers are an ordeal for me when it comes to taming my tresses. I work in a long term care home, caring for seniors, and one of the elderly women gave me a wonderful tip. She suggested that I use 100% aloe vera gel to style my hair. At first I was skeptical and was unbelieving that it would work, but I went out and bought a large bottle and have been using it ever since. Not only does it moisturize my dry hair, but it works as a styling gel and actually makes my hair healthier. I went to my hair stylist today and she commented on how much healthier my hair seems. |
| Grapeseed Oil - BY SUSAN E. M., CEDAR PARK, TEXAS |
| I've heard good things about grapeseed oil and have been using it for years on my face and neck after my shower. I also use it on my legs and hair. It's the best moisturizing oil I know of, it's cheap and my face looks 10 years younger than I really am. I love things that are multi-purpose. I can even make a salad with the oil. |

I wanted to pass on a great tip I have been doing for some time now. The women in my family tend to ge through lots of pantyhose - so we find ways to use them when they run instead of throwing them away all the time. One thing we do to keep hair from clogging the drain is cut off a leg section and ball it up in your tub drain (as long as you have the usual type plumbing) this allows water to pass but not the hair. I have long hair and we all shave in the shower so this keeps everything really clean. After the shower just toss it. The other really great thing you can use leftover pantyhose if for body exfoliating. Cut off the legs and put them over your hands in the shower and wash as usual. The fine texture of the material polishes your skin as smooth as glass. I was shocked at the amazing results when I started doing this! I originally tried this because loofahs and other products for exfoliating were way too harsh and made my skin irritated. This is just perfect! |

I'm only 13 but these treatments really work! I'm beauty smart, and like to get into fashion designing. 1. Subtle highlights- blondes- white vinegar, brunette- red vinegar. Add 5 teaspoons to shampoo. 2. Tighter pores- add 1 tsp. of vodka to lotion. It works! 3. Shinier, heathy hair- spread olive oil evenly through hair, let sit for 8-10 mins. then take a shower. 4. Don'ts- do not use preparation H for puffy eyes, it actually damages skin. Toothpastes clogs pores, use calimine lotion instead. I don't get pimples or zits or anything, but I heard drying them out leaves scars. 5. For better lipstick stay- apply lipliner first to avoid smudges. 6. All around beauty- Don't give up!!!!!!!! |
