Red Hair Treatment - BY A. RICE

All the women in my family have red hair. This trait goes back a longggg way in our family, and this treatment is commonly used to keep our hair looking vibrant instead of dull.

Mix:

  • 1 cup dark berry juice (any kind will do)
  • 1/2 cup rosehips
  • 1/2 cup cloves
  • 1/4 cup strong black coffee

Distribute evenly throughout your hair. There will definitely be some left over, but put in as much of the mixture as your hair can hold. Leave on for 10 minutes, and then rinse thouroughly with warm water and let dry.

Hair Gel - BY REDSTAR
You can make hair gel out of egg white. Let the eggwhite dry in your hair w/ some hair spray so it won't stink.
Hair Care Tip - BY KRISTEN M
Before going into the pool, wet your hair in a shower or sink. When you wet your hair with regular water your hair soaks up that water first, instead of soaking up mostly chlorinated water first. This way, not only will the chlorine do less damage, but your hair won't reek of it for days.
Highlighting With a Zest of Lemon - BY KATIE
Take some lemon juice (store bought or squeezed yourself) and run it through your hair. Go outside and let your hair sit in the sun for about 15-20 minutes. The lemon juice might irritate your head afterwards, so you should condition it.
Honey Hair Spray - BY JULIE S
I use honey-water instead of hair spray. I just rinse out a small plastic spray bottle, add about two tablespoons of honey to the bottom of the bottle, fill the bottle with hot water, and shake well. I store the mixture in the refrigerator, and I've found that it will keep for about two weeks. I would suggest that you use the mixture sparingly, and that you completely clean the bottle and spray mechanism every time you make a fresh batch. It works well on my long, straight hair.
Dry Hair - BY RUSTIN B
After drying hair, add a small amount of conditioner to hair. It helps with dry hair and the frizz look.
Hair Tip For Teenage / Dry, Frizzy Hair - BY RALPH
I love this site! I have a tip, but only for dry,frizzy/teenage hair otherwise your hair is a deep fat frier!

Mash 1 banana and mix it with 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil. Smooth through hair and leave for 1 minute. Comb out banana and rinse hair thoroughly. It won't really straighten hair, just condition it.
