Celebrate Summer with Fun Family Crafts

(ARA) - As Mother Nature treats our senses to an abundance of summer blooms, why not follow suit with these adorable flower cupcakes? They are fun and easy to make -- even the youngest member of the family can pitch in.

You can create these cupcakes with baked goods you make from scratch, or use store-bought ingredients. Either way, they’re sure to be a hit not only with your kids, but also with grandparents, neighbors and anyone else lucky enough to have one made especially for them.

The “flowers” are a good project for end-of-school parties, birthday parties, afternoon tea party and any other festive occasion.

You’ll need:

1 box (18.25 ounces) yellow cake mix

1 container white frosting

1 bag Starburst Jellybeans, original or tropical fruit (for those who enjoy a tart flavor, they are also available in the sour flavor)

Assembly:

1. Make cupcakes according to package directions.

2. Spread frosting onto cooled cupcakes and place jellybeans on top in a flower design.

You can adapt this idea to use with a 9 x 12 sheet cake -- simply use the jellybeans to create a picture or mosaic after the cake is frosted. Let your imagination be your guide.
