Born to a family of Christian Musicians, John alone made a life of music...
He simply loves it! His involvement and love for music transpired him at an early age. At childhood, his father, Mr. Delfin Ocampos, involved him in stage plays and in church choir since he was 9 years of age.His first achievement as a soloist, was at the age of 14, were he got 3rd place in a competion in Las Piñas City. After that, he won 1st place consecutively in various voice and musical competitions. His name brings with him a reputation as a singer and a stage actor....
He started his professional training in voice at the Sta. Isabel College, under the supervision of prof. Gamaliel Viray and at the University Of the Philippines Conservatory o Music under Prof. Emmanuel Gregorio, both professors of classical music and baritone singers, themselves. Hopefully he will graduate by year 2007 with the degree in Bachelors of Music major in Voice....
As a singer, he has done several voice performances around the country (Bayview Park Hotel, FBHS Grandstand, GCF Auditorium, SIC Catalina Hall, The Podium Mall, Cultural Center of the Philippines (PICC), GBC Auditorium, just to name a few..). He was a former member of The BBSI Singing Ambassadors, which toured around the Philippine Archipelago and as ministered to hundreds of churches, schools, camps, and other public gatherings for vocal performances.....
As a stage actor, John's virtuosity in terms of performances, enabled him to cast a big roles in every stage plays and performances. accordingly, as a proof of his being one of the "multi-talented man" of today, he has done more live shows that you can count on your fingers. He portrayed the character of Dr. Jose Rizal, entitled "The Heart of the City" under the direction of James Roiter, at SIC Auditorium. Other credits include a stage play held at the FBHS Grandstand, entitled "Daigdig, Dinaig ng Makamundong Pananalig", under the direction of Marra Cancillar....just to name a few...
Though this is all, he firmly believes that he can do all things through Christ who gives him strength....
