I read the article
about growing potatoes in a barrel and it is rather involved.
A simpler way
is to simply cultivate an small area , put your seed potatoes
on the ground cover thickly with loose hay and water them. The
potato sprouts will grow up through the hay and after the foliage
has
flowered and died down simply remove the hay and harvest your
potatoes from the top of the ground : no digging is necessary!
This method
works quite well in Southwestern Ontario and I have grown potatoes
this way many times!! |
