Stay Youthful - the Latest Trends
by Harry Caresworth

All of us dread the thought of old age, especially when it comes to wrinkles, sagging skin and the like. The good news is that there are ways in which we can significantly delay the aging process.

Well, time machine non-withstanding, science is helping us find the secrets of eternal youth, telling us how the body can rejuvenate on its own. What better way than to start with something as natural as the body itself?

What you eat

It's no secret that what you eat can dramatically improve your health, but what you choose to put in your mouth can also improve the elasticity and resilience of your skin.

Food high in water content works wonders for a youthful skin. As do antioxidants, like vitamins B, A, C, E, which help fight toxins like chemicals, which attack and damage skin. A multivitamin, too, goes a long way in giving you the adequate protection against collagen and skin cell damage that accelerate aging.

Some oils are good for you

Omega fatty acids found in some edible oils help keep your skin firm and elastic, improve the health of your hair and protect you from heart disease.

One of the best sources of omega acids is Flax oil. If you want to double the benefits, sprinkle some flax seeds on your food as well.

Use sunscreen

The harmful, ultraviolet rays of the sun are your skin's worst enemy. Before stepping outside, apply sunscreen to any exposed part of your body. Follow this regimen religiously and your skin will thank you, especially later in life.

Water, water and more water

You also want to be drinking when you're thirsty, and water is certainly best. Not only does it allow your body to flush away toxins, but it also keep the skin hydrated and supple.

The drier your skin, the more likelihood of developing wrinkles or of accentuating existing ones.

Beauty-shelf

If your diet and sunscreen don't seem to be helping, try using a face cream containing collagen and retinol. Both seem to help in reducing fine lines and faint wrinkles. Copper and Vitamin A creams have also shown positive results.

It might be a while till the time machine gets to us. Time may not wait, buy you can always make the wait seem longer -- keep looking youthful for that much longer.
