Bad breath is generally caused
by odor producing bacteria present in large quantities in the
mouth, and the white film of plaque coated on our teeth. The
most significant of all the bad breath home remedies is careful
and proper cleaning of teeth, twice a day on a regular basis.
Thorough removal of all the plaque from the teeth two times a
day makes the bacterial numbers drop to a level where they could
not produce obnoxious smells. The body's saliva is also very
helpful in reducing the bacteria in the mouth, therefore, drinking
plenty of water keep the mouth moist and thus keep your breath
fresh. Excessive intake of alcohol and some particular medical
conditions can make our mouth dry allowing the bacteria to grow
and cause bad breath. Proper cleaning of the teeth includes special
cleaning of the teeth right next to the gums, as a toothbrush
doesn't normally reach this area. Also the spaces between the
teeth must be cleaned out every day. Flossing is also very important
to keep the teeth clean.
A few simple bad breath home
remedies:
Chewing up mint or parsley
leaves
Gargle with warm water with baking soda dissolved in it.

Chewing some sunflower seeds
after every meal followed by a glass of water is a good home
remedy.
Sugar-free gum remove food particles trapped in the mouth,
so chewing sugar free gum is good to achieve a fresh breath
Intake of pineapple juice is one of the best bad breath home
remedies
Bad breath home remedies also include regular consumption
of apples as it is good to keep teeth clean and remove plaque.
Zinc is also a very good source of combating the anaerobic
bacteria therefore using a zinc mouthwash, or foods rich in zinc,
are helpful to retain the fresh breath.
A mouthwash containing hydrogen peroxide is helpful to kill
anaerobic bacteria so is included in good bad breath home remedies.
Fenugreek is another well known mouth refresher so drinking
fenugreek tea is useful to get a fresh breath. To make a fenugreek
tea simmer a teaspoon of the fenugreek seeds in half a liter
of water for about 15 minutes, strain it and then drink.
But, once again, the most important
of all the bad breath home remedies is to clean the teeth scrupulously
and regularly. |
