What about Yin Yang of character traits? Passive, shy, timid, creative, patient and pessimistic are Yin traits. Active, outwards, loud, logical, irritable and optimistic are Yang traits.

How do you classify the brain into Yin and Yang? The right brain is Yin while the left brain is Yang.

What is Wu Xing or the Five Elements? Wu Xing means Five Movement or Five Transformation. It refers to the five forms of energy or ‘qi’ that has properties similar to the elements of metal, wood, water, fire and earth. For this reason it is also know that the Five Elements.

What are the characteristics of the element metal? The energy of metal is contraction. It is hard, dense and cold to the touch or absorbs heat. It is also to do with power or authority.

What are the characteristics of the element wood? The energy of wood is growing and moving. It is also to do with growth and opportunities.

What are the characteristics of the element water? The energy of water is falling. It is also stillness or resting, has no form or wavy. It is also to do with money or wealth.

What are the characteristics of the element fire? The energy of fire is moving up or plenty of activities. It is also heat and light. It is also to do with recognition and ambition.

What are the characteristics of the element earth? The energy of earth is stability. It is also do to with support.

How are the seasons associated with the Five Elements? Water is winter, wood is spring, fire is summer, metal is autumn while earth represents the tail period of every season.

How are colors associated with the Five Elements? Water is blue, wood is green, fire is red, metal is while (or silver and gold) while earth is yellow.

How are geometric shapes associated with the Five Elements? Water is formless or wavy, wood is rectangular, fire is triangular (or angular), metal is round or cylindrical while earth is square.

How are the planets associated with the Five Elements? Mercury is water, Jupiter is wood, Mars is fire, Saturn is earth while Venus is metal.

How are directions associated with the Five Elements? North is water, east is wood, south is fire, west is metal while the center is earth.
How body parts associated with the Five Elements? The kidneys and sex organs are water, liver is wood, head, eyes and heart are fire, stomach and spleen are earth while lungs and large intestine are metal.

How are numbers associated with the Five Elements? Water is 1, Wood is 3 and 4, Fire is 9, Earth is 2, 5 and 8 while Metal is 6 and 7.

Give examples of Yang and Yin Fire. The Sun is an example of Yang Fire. The moon on the other hand is Yin Fire. A bushfire is yang Fire with a candle is Yin Fire.

Give examples of Yin and Yang Metal. A large metal object is Yang Metal while a small metal object is Yin Metal.

Give examples of Yin and Yang Water. An aquarium is Yang Water while a glass of water is Yin Water.

Give examples of Yin and Yang Earth. A large boulder is Yang Earth while a small piece of pottery is Yin Earth.

Give examples of Yin and Yang Wood. A tall tree is Yang Wood while a small plant (or wooden chair) is yin wood.

What is the productive cycle? This is the cycle where the five elements take turn to product each other. For example water produces wood which produce fire while produce earth while produce metal which in turn product water and the cycle repeats itself.

What is the controlling cycle? This is the cycle where the five elements take turn to control each other. For example water control fire which control metal which control wood which control earth which controls water and the cycle repeats itself.

What occupants or business belong to the metal element? It would include any metal related industry (e.g. metal-working), mechanical engineering works and vehicles.

What occupants or business belong to the wood element? It would include any wood related industry (e.g. carpentry), plant related industry (e.g. herbs growing, plant nursery) and printing and education.

What occupants or business belong to the water element? It would include any water-related industry (e.g. mineral water, coffee shops) and marine or sea going business.

What occupants or business belong to the fire element? It would include any fire related industry (e.g. foundry), electrical related, restaurant, art and advertising.
