Quick Temper? Time for a Flush

By: Kathlyn Lee

Often overlooked, when the liver is overstressed, all other organs start to dysfunction. Our liver constantly working to break down not only the environment and external toxins that invade our body, but also those produced during normal metabolic processes in the body - *internal toxins*.

The liver is perhaps the most congested of all organs in our body. Too much fat, chemicals, intoxicants, and denatured food all disrupt the hundreds of intricate biochemical processes of the liver.

One of the first signs of liver disharmony is emotional difficulty related to anger: impatience, frustration, resentment, violence, belligerence, rudeness, edginess, arrogrance, stubbornness, aggression and an impulsive and explosive personality. Depression, mood swings as well as excessively emotional in general are liver-related. Tiredness, dark circles under eyes, poor digestion and dull skin are also symptoms of poor liver function.

Love your liver- cleanse, detoxify and strengthen it, allowing, in turn for your internal system to perform at optimum levels.

Try some of these liver detox recipes:

Recipe 1:

Drink this mixture first thing in the morning for 10 days continuously.

Ingredients:

1/2 cup of warm water
2 tbsp of pure lemon juice
1 tbsp of olive oil
1 tbsp of black-strap molasses
some cayenne pepper

Recipe 2:

This is a good breakfast drink and probably the best liver cleansing tonic.

Ingredients:

1 carrot
1/2 beetroot
1 stick celery
1 cucumber

Method:

1. Thoroughly wash all vegetables.

2. Peel and dice the carrots and beetroot.

3. Dice the celery and cucumber.

4. Pass all vegetables through a juicer.

5. Drink the juice within a half hour

Did you know, you can detox without a major diet overhaul by adding certain substances to your diet? An herbal fiber supplement designed for cleansing, for example, can help detoxify your digestive system and colon by sweeping out potentially harmful wastes and toxins naturally.
