BURDENS
Today I walked the highway
With faltering step and slow;
My load seemed very heavy,
And long the way to go,
A comrade walked beside me,
And as I glanced his way,
I saw that he, too, carried
His burdens through the day.
I smiled and reached to help him,
I lefted half his load;
My own seemed strangely lighter
as we journeyed down the road.
I received this quote from an
elderly friend of mine. How true the above is. May we always
keep a smile on our face, for we never know who carries burdens
on their shoulder whether young or old. I smile a lot and many
people particularly the elderly can't believe they have just
witnessed a smile, they take a double take and give me a big
broad smile back. I know that I have made their day and mine
to.
