Natural Remedy For Pain - BY VALERIE, KANSAS CITY, KS

I am SUCH a fan of Pioneer Thinking. A few years back I started researching essential oils for use in joint and muscle pain. My mom had torn ligaments in her knee from a work injury, and my grandmother had severe pain in her spine and muscles from breaking her back 3 times. I found a mixture of 2 essential oils mixed in a base of almond oil that kills even the worst pain and arthritis.

My Aunt, along with others we gave the recipe to, swear by it.

You can add as much of the essential oils as you like, but I found that this recipe seems to work great and lasts a long time since you don't have to apply a large amount.

In a jar or container use:

  • 1/3 cup Almond Oil
  • 20 drops Tea Tree Essential Oil
  • 20 drops Rosemary Essential Oil

Stir mixture well, and it's ready to apply to the pain afflicted area. Since a small amount is needed, make-up sponges work really well to apply the mixture to the skin. You can generally feel the difference after one application. If more is needed, wait until the first application dries then re-apply.

Most base oils just stay on the surface of the skin, but Almond Oil actually absorbs INTO the skin so that the essential oils are absorbed as well and that's when they really take effect.

Tea Tree Essential Oil numbs the pain.

Rosemary Essential Oil helps the blood to circulate.

Used together they are excellent in helping even the worst pain.

Shave Burn Remedy - BY BARBARA V.
I mix cornstarch and baby powder, 1/2 and 1/2, to sprinkle, or dust after I shave my bikini, etc. areas. Remember to dry off real good before applying. I also have used this for diaper rash on my children. As well as a great chafing remedy for my better half for his inner thighs and crotch area because of sweating and rubbing of the jeans. All is clear within a day!
Sunburns - BY DAVID S.
Yeah going to the beach is fun, but sometimes you can get really sunburnt. I have a natural way of soothing and healing a sunburn very quickly. You take a vitamin E pill and open it. Spread all around the red affected area. In about 20 min you will notice that the redness is down and will feel smoothed. I usually do it at night so in the morning i have no more embarrassing red face.
Sunburns - BY B.C.
For sunburns, Gold Bond extra strength body lotion cools the burn and stops itching fast. It feels like soothing ice on a very uncomfortable sunburn, and helps you sleep when you can't stop itching.
Olive Oil - BY RANAHK
1400 years ago the Prophet of Islam, Muhammad, advised his followers to apply olive oil to their bodies, and himself used oil on his head. The use of oil is found in many religions and cultures. It has been used during special ceremonies and also as a general health measure. During baptism in the Christian church, holy oil, which is often olive oil, may be used for anointment. At the Chrism mass olive oil blessed by the bishop, "chrism", is used in the ceremony. Like the grape, the Christian missionaries brought the olive tree with them to California for food but also for ceremonial use. Olive oil was used to anoint the early kings of the Greeks and Jews. The Greeks anointed winning athletes. Olive oil has also been used to anoint the dead in many cultures.
