I have discovered, through
much trial and tribulation (those of you with this type of hair
know what I'm talking about), that the easiest way to deal with
my very thick and curly hair is as follows:
Wash normally then after you've
put conditioner in your hair, bend over and use your hands to
comb out your hair while it's conditioning. Once you're rinsed
and out, hold a nice, thick, dry towel around your hair for at
least 5 minutes -more if needed. Don't squeeze or scrunch!! It'll
just put the knots back in.
Now, the good part: JOJOBA OIL. While your hair is still damp
(important!!), put no more that a dime-sized bit of oil in your
hand. Rub your hands together and apply to your hair. Try to
avoid the scalp are (it'll just get oily looking faster) and
finger-comb through lightly.
Now let your hair AIR DRY ONLY -all you curly headed people know
you should have thrown out the hair dryer years ago!! You'll
have beautiful, soft, shiny curls all over the place that people
will rave over! (don't be afraid of a layering haircut either
with this method).
That's my 2-cents. I hope it helps - it sure has made my life
easier!!! |
