Panini Sandwich Recipes: How to Make an Interesting Snack for Your Kids

BY SABRINA ROCCA

Children love to eat and to try something new that’s of their liking. They get fascinated with food, especially if it has a unique presentation. Parents are always trying to think of new snacks that they can feed their kids. They must be healthy and delicious at the same time. No matter how nutritious the food is, if it does not pass their standard of a tasty snack, they will definitely ignore it. As a concerned parent, you do not want your children to regularly eat junk food, right? As much as possible, you want to divert their attention to the right kind of food.

The typical lunch that kids bring to school is a sandwich. This is because it is easy to prepare. You just have to pick a delightful filling and you can already pair it with a juice or chocolate drink. Panini, Italian sandwiches also make great, healthy snacks. Normally, mothers would buy different kinds of spreads to add variety to the panini. You can try looking for healthy panini sandwich recipes on the internet or you can buy cookbooks so that you will have more choices. Panini are a perfect snack for your kids, because they can easily experiment with the ingredients. Usually, vegetables and fruits are used for the filling. The dressing is also important, since it is the one that dictates the taste of the panini. Let your kids make their own, cut them up into bite-size pieces and you have a great snack for lunches or after school.

When you are planning snacks that are best for your children, try to be creative. Use ingredients that will entice your little ones. It is much better if you choose fresh lettuce, tomatoes and cucumbers to make a luscious vegetarian panini. This tastes delightful for them. Do not forget to add some cheese since kids love dairy foods. After you have grilled them, the melted cheese will certainly make them ask for more. You can include some fresh fruit or veggies on the side to add variety to the sandwich. It will be more interesting.

There are panini sandwich recipes that are easy to follow. You can try to them one at a time. Let your kids taste all of them, so you will know which one is their favorite. Once you already know their much desired sandwich, try to pair it with ice cold chocolate milk or fresh fruit shake. In this manner, they will not get tired of eating the same panini over and over again. Your creativity should be used in this situation, because you need to convert a boring snack into a much appealing one.

The presentation of the food also counts a lot in making it interesting. Kids are lured in by color and excitement so let them be part of the creation of panini. When you are making a snack for them to bring it in school, make everything as handy and convenient as possible. You can wrap the panini with foil or you can simply put it in a re-sealable sandwich bag. Then you can place it in their lunchbox. The freshness of the ingredients will be the same. It will still be delicious even if they consume it during their afternoon break.
